Children's Healthcare of Atlanta Egleston was able to place her on ECMO support for lifesaving treatment. Her condition was a result of numerous organ problems, including the failure of her kidneys. Her life became a new regimen of hemodialysis, followed by the peritoneal dilation. After having spent 80 days in the hospital, she went from being near death to a long recovering path. Angelica had completed a one-year dialysis treatment and a half-year of dialysis, was now set to undergo the biggest surgery of all - a kidney replacement. Angelica's mom was the only person who was able to donate a kidney. Angelica Hale along with her mother had an organ transplantation procedure on the premises of Emory University Hospital in Atlanta as well as Children's Healthcare of Atlanta Egleston on September 13th 2013.
